Projects

Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide range of projects. To learn more about my work and experience, please checkout the projects below.

NASA@ My Library

I co-managed Pacific Science Center’s NASA@ My Library project, which aimed to connect NASA-funded researchers, public libraries, and their communities. I supported Portal to the Public Network sites in their efforts to promote learning about NASA science, specifically ensuring they are providing engaging virtual learning experiences in rural libraries to people of diverse backgrounds.

As part of this project I co-developed a publication to disseminate final project results. To learn more about this project, please read the Informal Learning Review  article

Artist in Residence Program

In 2018, I co-developed an Artist in Residence Program at Pacific Science Center. Besides managing the Artist in Residence Program, I facilitated collaborations between local artists and scientists. In collaboration with the artists and scientists, I develop cross-disciplinary experiences for the public.

The Artist in Residence Program was part of larger project that was funded by the Institute of Museums and Library Services. To learn more about this cross-disciplinary project, click on the side image to read the guide that I co-developed to document final project results and lessons learned.

CSUN Ocean Acidification Research

As a graduate student at California State University Northridge (CSUN), I joined the Ocean Acidification Research group. I conducted experiments in Miami, FL and Oahu, HI. My research focused on understanding the effects of ocean acidification and climate change on calcifying marine macroalgae. Click here to learn more about my master’s research project.

Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon Cruise

While working as a Research Lab Technician for the Corals and Climate Change Laboratory at the University of Miami, I got the opportunity to work with a group of 24 scientists from AOML and other NOAA line offices and universities during the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon Cruise.

During this month-long research cruise, I collected and analyzed water samples from CTD equipment for oxygen measurements. Click on the side image to learn more about this research cruise.
